How it works:
The flow switch consists of a paddle system, at the upper end of which is a permanent magnet. Above this magnet, a reed contact is placed outside the flow.
A second magnet is used to generate a restoring force, for the paddle. If the flow to be monitored meets the paddle system, it will be deflected. As a result, the magnet changes its position to the reed contact, which is thus actuated. Once the flow is interrupted, the paddle moves back to its original position and thus actuates the reed contact again. The necessary restoring force is generated by the two repelling magnets.
The exploitation of the magnetic force, in comparison to a conventional leaf spring, results in a much better long-term stability and a much higher insensitivity to pressure peaks.
